SCAMP Day 1

Well, i promised to bring you guys the content of fun and enjoyment from the 5 days orientation camp i joined last week and here are the details.

At 8am in the morning of day 1, i arrived at LT32 with my big luggage bag and my shoe bag ready to embark on a week of fun and bonding. Outside LT32, i checked my name against the list and was brought into the LT by my OG senior like customers being seated in a restaurant by a waiter. The crowd started pileing. I learnt that i belong to the OG Shargen which flag is a shark like warrior, which belongs to the house of Amanzia, water.

The camp officially started off with some basic ice breaking session. I was happy to learn that Kenneth, my cpmc colleague, was in my OG. Also in my OG were Javin (fellow AJCian) and his friend Weicun, Kenneth's MJ friend Don, one of the other OG senior's younger bro, Chii Yeh, 3 girls from NUS High Sch, Debbie, Joy and YY, 2 girls from SRJC, sheena and siting and finally Jac from ACJC.

Lunch was served at 11.30am as we get to sit in a circle and have our lunch, which was packed from the nearby residence. Surprisingly the lunch for that day, and subsequent days ahead was good, despite being just economical rice. After lunch, we played station games at the field. The final OG mate Jeremy, a PSC scholar who studied in Japan, joined in due to prior commitment earlier in the morning. We played some easy station games like sockings over head (the one i saw in Ellen Show), squeezing lime juice from the mouth, etc. While the fun was rather slow-paced, it served as a build-up to what is to come for the next 4 days.

After the games, we learnt Science Faculty cheers where i witnessed the bonding and spirit of the science faculty from the enthusiasm of the seniors. We had dinner and proceeded to the grandstand for mass dance. It was abit confusing at the start as our psychomotor problem kicked in. However, as we proceeded on the dance steps, things got a little more familiar.

Mass dance ended around 9 and the last event of the day was special pal. Special pal was when a guy and a girl freshie got blind-folded and paired up. So pairs basically get to interact with each other in private and blindfolded of cause. At the end of the camp, blind folds will be removed and we will to know who our SP was and what he/she look like. I was paired with this Indian girl from Green house. Do not ask me how i know but we kinda cheated the rules. We were not supposed to leak our identity but who cares. I learnt that she was from NYJC, attached, and intending to do Chemistry.

After the SP session, which ended around 11pm, we went back to the LT32 for a brief of what is to come for the next day and we were sent to the nearby residence to wash up, bathe and prepare to sleep. We layed our sleeping bags along the alley, stage and platform inside LT32 and fell asleep out of the tire accumulated over the day of events.
